John Rust is a freelance videographer and web designer. He's done work for companies such as Peragon Enterprises (photo, video, web design), and Minimal Mac (web design). He occasionally also does a few personal projects on the side, such as Seedling, a curated gallery of online content.
When he's not working, he's a student at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia, majoring in journalism and coffee-related beverages. He hopes to graduate in the spring of 2013 and do something with his degree.
You might have heard of him from his involvement in the infamous "Operation Chokehold" campaign in December of 2009. While his personal viewpoints on cell phone data plans have changed since that time, he doesn't regret the experience at all. The campaign netted him a profile in BusinessWeek magazine and opened doors to numerous freelance projects in the subsequent year.
He used to have a blog here, but after months of sitting stagnant, he's taken it down in the hopes that sometime soon he can start all over again. In the mean time, he enjoys and posting 140-character messages on Twitter.
